2014 Budget – RobLeone.com

2014 Budget

The following is a statement from Cambridge MPP Rob Leone on today’s budget:

“I’m disappointed that Kathleen Wynne’s Liberal government has once again failed to put forward a plan for job creation in Ontario. With $46 Billion in pre-election promises, Kathleen Wynne has now overseen the largest seat-saver program in the country’s history.  She has not learned from her government’s mistakes during the last election’s vote-buying, gas plant scandal.  The people of Ontario will not be fooled again. The Liberal Party of Ontario has lost the moral authority to govern and, with it,  has lost the trust of Ontario families and businesses.

What Ontario needs now is bold action to get our province’s finances in order and to get the 600,000 men and women who woke up this morning without a job, back to work. Since this government has failed to present any type of plan that would make life more affordable for residents of Cambridge and North Dumfries, I cannot in all good conscience support this budget.

During the first confidence vote on this budget, the NDP decided to abstain.  Ontario needs leadership.  We need decisiveness.  We do not need somebody who in the face of crisis decides to not show up for work, who says she’ll get back to us on another day.  The complete indecision and lack of plan from the NDP shows they aren’t ready to govern.

Ontario families and businesses need to know they have a government that understands their concerns.  They don’t have that now, and that’s why we need an election.  Tim Hudak and the Ontario PCs have presented Ontario with a One Million Jobs Plan.  We need jobs.  We need a stronger economy.  We need these things in order to enhance the social programs we rely upon each and every day.  What is clear today, more than ever before, is that only an Ontario PC government can provide the plan to turn this province around.”
