CAMBRIDGE – “If we have learned anything about the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals, it is that they have a proven track record of losing manufacturing jobs,” said Ontario PC MPP Rob Leone.
Leone’s comments follow the news that 4,200 families lost their jobs in Waterloo Region in March. It marked the 87th consecutive month that Ontario’s unemployment rate was above the national average.
“Right now, we have a government that isn’t creating jobs for people,” said Leone. “Last month, when families should have been looking forward to March Break, they were 20,000 men and women looking for a job. We need to change this.”
The Ontario PC Caucus has put forward a plan to create jobs by lowering taxes, making hydro rates more affordable and reducing the red-tape businesses face.
“Instead of focusing on their own political fortunes by wasting a billion dollars on two gas plants, the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals should have been helping the men and women in Waterloo Region who are unemployed,” added Leone.
“We need a government that will implement a turnaround plan immediately. While the Liberals and NDP have chosen to create jobs for bureaucrats, the Ontario PCs will create jobs for you.”
